Fantastic midday flight over the pass and half way to Avila - 38km
Good climbs on the ridge in NW wind, then out into the middle of the valley. Nice climbs between the long bar and Villa Franca. Got up to 2600m at about the cemetary, so went on glide to join Jeff and Bill over the Antenna, to set up for crossing the pass. We glided out and got a low save at about the 26km mark. Jeff took off to take a climb with Bill. I kept going in a weak thermal. Bill and Jeff climbed right up to 3500m under the only cloud in the valley, and then glided the nearly 30km to Avila. Never mind, I got 38km before getting freaked out by very bumpy air close to the ground, so landed and landed in a strong westerly in the hugest field I could find.
