Colombia February 2012Roldanillo, in Valle del Cauca, Colombia 2012
In addition to the fortnight we are running in South Africa(only 2 places left) in January this next year we will be running a fortnight aimed more so at thermalling and cross country flying. We had a lot of calls to go back to Mexico but we´ve had excellent feedback following the championships, on the conditions and flying Colombia
The area is super safe and offers great Xc routes, well trod by the recent world championships. There should be abundant opportunity to get some Xc flying in almost every day!! This will be a trip no to be missed, the holiday is almost full but there are some places yet to be filled. Below are a few more details etc
The driver has a Gps so you can phone or radio in your position and he'll track you down. You will be given a free local sim card when you arrive so please bring an open unlocked phone for retrieve mostly.
Arrive 28th January 2012 leave on the 11th Feb
What level must you be? In essence you will want to be good and current in ground handling and flying, with some experience of flying abroad in thermic conditions...if your unsure as to your suitability, then drop me a line.
The aim is to arrive en mass on the 28th and recover, then fly the 29th everyday...our plan is to try 3 or 4 areas around Colombia for flying so we will probably change accommodation maybe three times.
We will be met by Colombian world championship pilot and meet director Lucho Jimenez with a 19 seater air con bus, we'll be taken to a digs out in the sticks, only twenty minutes away from the airport and only ten minutes from the first flying site. Rooms will be mostly based on two sharing, all the Cortijo hotels we will be staying at sound great and come with BBQ and pool. Breakfast comes included but we will need to forage for dinner as usual.
It's a big trip so I'll be taking deposits over the month of July for the holiday and coordinating flight bookings etc... Final payment will be needed for beginning of November.
All the best and if you have any questions Give us a call or drop me an email rob@flyspain.co.uk
FlySpain has had one of its best seasons to date, loads of Xc flying and some we´ve produced a loads of new pilots and met some new friends, a top year so far - have a good summer
