Rat Race Practice Day - Blue Sky Thermals

Perfect conditions on launch for Practice Day. Blue sky with only a little high cloud, and lots of thermals for everybody. The Sprint Practice was a short back and forth around the valley, with blue thermals making flying pretty easy. I topped out at around 2600m about Rabies Ridge which made the rest of the course around the Woodrat valley pretty much speed bar all the way.

Heading to the Longsword Vineyard after todays flight.

All pilots are flying with SPOT trackers this year. Lots of people are new to it so there was at a lot of figuring out going on at Headquarters after the race

XCFind Tacking  Go down to Rat Race Sprint and click SPOT, which takes you the my Spot Shared Page This is where my flight will be tracked at approximately 10 minute intervals over the next days.

There is a great Podcast that describes what the Rat Race is about and why it is special...
