Rat Race Travel Day - The 45mpg, 100mph Yaris

Long travel day all the way across the USA from Rochester Hills, Michigan to Medford,  Oregon.

Uneventful flights to Reno, except for some wild desert turbulence coming in to land. Picked up a little Toyota Yaris rental car for the five hour drive north from Reno on the 395, then through the beautiful northern California volcanic wilderness between Susanville and Mt Shasta on the 44 and 89.

I had a blast windy the gutsy little Yaris up to 100mph down the deserted miles of roller coaster roads through the Lassen National forest. Not bad for a budget rental...

Filling up the tank just before the California border thought I'd just put a few gallons in the tank and wait for Oregons lower gas prices to completely fill it. 5 gallons later the tank was full! 5 gallons for 240 miles? Thats 45mpg +.

Mean and Lean. 100mph and 45 mpg!

The sun was settting as past Mt Shasta, then on to Medford.
