After several hours delay, the race started when conditions finally seemed to improve at about 2pm. However cloudbase and top of lift was barely over the top of Rabies Peak in the distance (i.e about 4500ft) so only a few of the best pilots were able to climb out and push into the headwind towards the rather dark clouds.
The rest of us sank a mass group and landed at the Hunters bail out field. There was a lot of banter about how hopeless everyone was with both Race and Sprint pilots piling into the landing field every minute or so.
