Labor Day at Marshall

A few photos from 90 minute, 23km XC late afternoon flight at Marshall yesterday. It was 100F (38C) in the landing field so t-shirt flying up to 6000ft!

6 miles out and back to the north with slow but easy climbs up to 6000ft, then back to launch and  3 miles out and back to the south to Arrowhead Springs. Getting back was a little chancy, but managed to surf lines of lift along the foothills all the way back to land shortly before 6pm.

Looking north to the 15 freeway in the valley,  with Mt Baldy left and Mt Baden Powell in the distance. I turned around at the shaded ridge on the lower center of the picture.

From 6000ft, looking east over the back to Lake Silverwood and the Mohave River behind

Heading back along the San Bernadino foothills after the south 'out and back' leg to Arrowhead Springs.
